| Field notes | Moderately branched terrestrial tree ca. 6-8 m tall. Leaves dark green above, with whitish and often also yellowish orange indument beneath, leaflets strongly folded adaxially along the midvein, coriaceous, somewhat brittle. Inflorescence axes yellow-green, with short indument. Heads ellipsoid, corolla pale yellow green, calyx rim and disc yellow, filaments whitish, anthers pinkish red, ovary of young fruits yellow green, with dense, whitish indument on visible portion of ovary, disc yellow, styles yellow-orange to red, nearly mature fruits orange-yellow, with short, persistent orange-brown indument on ovary, disc light green, styles somewhat darker, turning brown toward the apex.
