Field notes Small tree, stem 1,5 m x 5 cm; crown of 10 erect lvs; sheath 30 cm; petiole 160 cm, w spiny margins; blade palmate w 14 segments, the shortest one 56 cm long, the longest one 70 cm; infructescence interfoliar, erect, 230 cm long w. 5 partial infructescence each with 4–5 rachillae that are 30 cm long. Morphology fits mostly L. spinosa, which however is suposedly cespitose: Photo of entire palm however shows some small plants at the base which could be either seedlings or suckers.
